- MEASURE BEFORE YOU ORDER — 4" OUTSIDE × 1/2" BORE ONLY: Check (1) roller outside diameter is about 4", (2) hub length matches the inside width of your winch-post fork, (3) the mounting hole is 1/2" for the bolt through your bracket. Wrong size is the #1 trailer-roller mistake: a 3" roller in a 4" fork sits loose with big gaps; a 4" roller in a tight 3" fork binds and will not turn. This listing is the 4" × 1/2" size only — not 3", not 3.5" Shorelandr specials, not 5/8" shaft versions.
- CENTER ROLLER ONLY — NO END BELLS, BOLT, OR WASHERS IN THE BOX: Many shoppers expect a full bow assembly with side bells and hardware. This SKU is the middle yellow roller only — reuse your existing 1/2" bolt and washers if they are still good. If you need the full package (center roller + two end bells, about 4" center / ~7" overall), that is a different bow stop assembly listing — not this one. Ordering the wrong package is the second most common complaint after wrong diameter.
- NON-MARKING YELLOW POLY — STOP BLACK RUBBER SCUFFS ON THE BOW: Aged stock black rubber rollers crack, flatten, and wipe black marks onto gelcoat. This yellow poly roller is cut-resistant, UV-resistant, and built to cushion the bow without leaving those black rubber stains boaters complain about on forums. Soft enough to protect the hull, firm enough not to mush out under normal winching. Color may look amber/yellow depending on light — finish is non-marking poly, not sticky old rubber.
- INSTALL TIP — DON'T CRUSH THE FORK: Slide the roller on the 1/2" bolt through the winch-post forks. Add washers if the hub is shorter than the fork gap so it sits centered. Tighten the lock nut only until slack is gone — still turn by hand. If forks squeeze the hub, back the nut off or ease the forks. A bow roller is mainly a cushioned stop: once the boat is winched tight, spinning often stops — normal, not defective. Won't turn by hand after install? Axle too tight or forks pinching.
- WINCH-POST BOW ROLLER ONLY — NOT KEEL, SPOOL, OR 4x7 STOP: Mounts on the front winch stand to center and cushion the bow when loading. Not a bunk keel/spool roller (under-hull, often 8–12" long). Not a fixed V bow stop with end bells (~4" center / ~7" overall). Match diameter, bore, and hub width to the old part. Measure twice — wrong category means a wasted ramp day and a return.
